Monreale Palermo Segesta Siracusa Rome

In May of 1999, I went on a Go Ahead Vacations trip to Sicily, with an extension to Malta and an overnight in Rome due to rescheduling of a connecting flight. The total length of the trip was two weeks, with a total of 19 rolls of film, five hotels, four flights, two boat trips (one sightseeing and one from Sicily to Malta), and countless helpings of gelato. Of the almost 500 pictures I took during the trip, about half of them will appear on this site. The pages in this section will describe the trip in words and pictures, and will hopefully give you an idea of the overall experience. And of course it would be nice if it could attract a lot of international visitors, like my hastily thrown together London section.

To view larger pictures on any of these pages, just click on the thumbnail images. Larger versions of these pictures are available for printing or for use as background images. Contact Matthew M. Lug for more information. On the bottom of each page you will find a navigation bar with links to the previous and next pages in chronological order, the location of the hotel that was stayed at that night, and the index of this site.
