Palermo - Palatine Chapel

After our tour of Palermo's Cathedral, we visited the Palatine Chapel. Above are some views of the mosaic interior of the Palatine Chapel. A lot of gold was used, and Greek, Latin, and Arabic influence can be seen. The lower portion of the walls differs greatly from the upper because the Arab craftsmen were allowed to do as the pleased with the lower section (this is most visible in the second picture from the right). The ceiling (partially visible in the last picture) is also of Arabic design.
