After leaving Cefalu, we headed for Palermo. Before checking into the hotel, we went through the Cathedral, the Palatine Chapel, and the cathedral at Monreale. We then checked into the hotel, exhausted.

On May 26 my mother and I set out to explore the city of Palermo. We first walked through an outdoor market that had everything from toys to a very fresh, large tuna. Our first stop was the Archeological Museum. We then continued walking through streets and parks until we got to the coast. From there we made our way to the Botanical Garden. After that we were once again exhausted, so we began the long walk back to the hotel. Above and below are pictures from this day. The second picture from the right above shows a fountain that my mother wanted to see. The fountain was under repair and was completely closed off.

The next day, May 27, we went on a trip to the ruins of Segesta and the mountaintop town of Erice.

After another night of rest, we packed up and set out for Siracusa via Agrigento.

Mount Pelligrino and the coast.
The four corners of an intersection that represent the four seasons. I have no idea which is which.
